Raffle Quilt
The “American Beauty”, an 84” x 104” queen size, will be the raffle quilt for Quilt Fest 2012. It has been machine pieced and quilted by guild members. The pattern and fabric is designed by Marti Michell and is being used with her permission. Tickets are available through all guild members at $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 and will also be available for sale during Quilt Fest. The winning ticket will be drawn at 3:45 PM, Saturday, March 31, 2012. The winner need not be present to win.
Silent Auction
This year the proceeds of the 2012 silent auction quilts sold at the show will go to the Decatur Family Refuge. The refuge is “a door for families with no door”. It is Decatur’s new shelter for homeless families. The shelter opened Sept. 20, 2011 and can house up to five families at a time and so far has gotten more than a half-dozen of them into transitional housing. We are proud to support such a needed service in our community.
You can help by making a small quilt, not larger than 30”X30” or a table runner, not exceeding 18”X45” long, that will be auctioned silently at the 2012 Quilt Fest. Information and application can be downloaded here or contact Sharon Thompson.Door Prizes
