Workshops
Workshops are open to all, with preference given to Decatur Quilters Guild members. Please contact Linda Boles to register. Workshop must be paid for at time of registration in order to hold your seat.
- Wednesday, February 8, 2012: Hand Applique Workshops by Kathy Kline
- This will be a recurring workshop following the day group meetings.
- Patterns & kits will be provided
- Saturday, May 5, 2012: Beginning Free Motion Quilting class by Millie Sorrells from Macomb, Illinois
- $36.00 per person
- Supply List
- Saturday, June 2, 2012: Advanced Free Motion (Heirloom Quilting) class by Millie Sorrells
(1/2 day class)
- Cost to be determined + $12 Kit (required)

Students will finish class with an approximately 18" square sampler of different heirloom quilting designs, completed on a domestic sewing machine.
- July 2012 (tentative): Either miniature paper piecing or no sew landscape fused applique by Doris Deutmeyer from Cedar Rapids, Iowa
- August 11, 2012 (tentative): Hand Dyeing Fabric by LouAnn Moore of Visionaries
- November 2-3, 2012: Pat Speth of Nickel Quilts

Note: If you are attending a class, please arrive at 8:30 am to allow time to sign in and set up. Lunch is on your own during the classes. You may bring your lunch, order something in, or go out on your own. If you want to bring snacks to share, you are welcome to do so.
Trips
The Decatur Quilters Guild plans 1-2 trips annually. Payment must be made with your reservation to guarantee your seat. Trips are open to all, with preference given to Decatur Quilters Guild members. Please contact Barb Stinson to sign up.
Our current trips are:

Patriotic Mystery Project
Our evening group had a wonderful hands-on project, making a "Mystery" patriotic project. (hover over the image for a hint...)
Jan Krentz teaches two day class
Jan Krentz came to lecture & teach in September 2011. She taught a two day class on the Rainbow Split Broken Star and gave a wonderful lecture.
Edyta Sitar with Laundry Basket Quilts
Edyta Sitar visited the Guild in July 2011 for 2 classes and a lecture. All attendees were THRILLED with Edyta and can't wait to have her back again!
Karen Linduska visits the Guild
Guild members recently enjoyed two days of classes with Fiber Artist Karen Linduska. Participants learned to use the wonderful decorative stitches in their sewing machines and manipulate them to make gorgeous art quilts.
Decatur Quilters Guild Welcomes Bonnie Hunter
The Guild was honored to have Bonnie Hunter as a lecturer and teacher for our Spring Luncheon in May. Bonnie's ideas for stash usage have all of us scrambling to cut strips out of our mounds of stash and to get busy making quilts! Just remember...if it's still ugly, you didn't cut it small enough!! Thanks, Bonnie!
