Welcome to the
Decatur Quilters Guild
The Decatur Quilters Guild is a not-for-profit organization, which strives to spread the art of quilting to all who are interested. Members do many charity projects, such as making quilt for wounded soldiers returning from war, quilts for Project Linus, as well as charity quilts which are given to a non-profit organization to help them in their fund-raising efforts. The Decatur Quilters Guild also provides mini-quilt shows to area nursing homes and is also a participant in the National Quilt Day.

2011 Charity Quilt Recipient
The Decatur Quilters Guild was pleased to present our 2011 Charity Quilt "Smell the Flowers" to the Macon County Historical Society on May 25, 2011 at our Spring Luncheon. The Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the local heritage of Macon County and will use the quilt in a raffle to raise funds for various projects around the Museum and Prairie Village facility.

2011 Quilt Fest Silent Auction
The Decatur Quilters Guild's Quilt Fest presented funds raised through a Silent Auction at our show in March to the Decatur Public Schools Lending Library of Musical Instruments. This program was created 2 years ago by community members who saw a need to make musical instruments available to grade schoolers who might not be able to afford to purchase an instrument. Instruments were donated from many generous people and others were purchased by funds raised and/or donated by the Decatur Public Schools Foundation. Currently, the Lending Library has 140 band and orchestra instruments to lend to 4th and 5th graders and funds raised will go towards the purchase and maintenance of instruments. In the first year the Library was founded, music classes saw a 15% increase in participation and an additional 18% increase in the second year.
